Case study · Brasero Atlántico Bahrain

Zero to 7,924. And a cuisine Bahrain thought it already knew.

Brasero Atlántico opened on the rooftop of the Sheraton Bahrain as the signature restaurant of a hotel that had been shut for renovation. No audience, no local awareness of the Buenos Aires parent brand, and an entire cuisine the market had already filed under one word: steak.

The Challenge

Brasero Atlántico is the Bahrain outpost of a group whose Buenos Aires bar has spent years on the world’s best lists. In Manama, that pedigree counted for very little. Nobody had heard of it.

We started two months before the doors opened, with nothing. No Instagram account, no Facebook page, no TikTok, no Google Business Profile. Every channel had to be built and populated before there was a restaurant to talk about.

The harder problem was the food itself. Argentine dining in Bahrain read as steakhouse, and that was it. Argentine cuisine is shaped by a century of migration, Italian and Spanish and Levantine, and the live fire grill is the method rather than the menu. None of that was understood in the market. Some of it was not fully articulated internally either. Before we could widen the perception, we had to work with the team to define what they were actually selling.

Launching a restaurant is a positioning exercise. Launching a category is a different job.

The Strategy

Instagram was the priority. In Bahrain it is where dining decisions are made, and everything else supported it.

The strategic call was to lead with people rather than plates. Two reasons. The feed rewards human faces over styled food, and more importantly, recognition travels. If a guest arrives already knowing the executive chef’s name and where the grill tradition comes from, the education happens before they sit down. The restaurant stops being a room and becomes a set of people with a story.

So the culinary team went on camera. Chefs, management, service. Then the food, the fire, and a rooftop view of Manama that needed no explaining.

Everything ran in English and Arabic.

What We Did

Built the entire digital presence from nothing. Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and the Google Business Profile, all established and populated in the run-up to opening. Instagram led, the rest supported.

Produced at launch volume. Around twelve feed posts a month including reels, alongside 170 or more Instagram stories in a single month, all shot in-house. A launch of this kind cannot be sustained on a standard content retainer, and we scoped production accordingly.

Put the team on camera. Executive chef, assistant general manager, guest chef collaborations, kitchen and service moments. The data settled the argument: human-led content consistently outperformed menu and styled food posts across the engagement.

Phased the media. A teaser build before opening, the launch campaign in May 2025, then always-on support with heavier weight behind key activations. Targeting extended beyond Bahrain into the Eastern Province.

Ran bilingual throughout. Arabic and English captions across Instagram and TikTok, written for each audience rather than translated between them.

The Results

7,924 Instagram followers and 3,644 on TikTok, built from zero. More than 11,500 people across both platforms in twelve months, with no inherited audience.

Over 606,000 views in a single month. December 2025 delivered 421,085 Instagram views and 185,681 on TikTok, as festive activations peaked and New Year’s Eve sold out.

A cross-border audience. Nineteen per cent of the Instagram following is in Saudi Arabia, and Khobar and Dammam both rank in the top four cities. For a rooftop in Manama, that is causeway traffic showing up in the numbers.

A launch mandate delivered and closed. We were brought in to take a global brand into a market that had never heard of it, and we handed over an established presence, a defined content strategy and a proven creative direction at the end of the twelve months.

That last line is not a rounding error. A rooftop in Manama built a following in Buenos Aires. When the cuisine is done properly, the people it came from notice.
